Standing For Those Who Stood For Us

7 Days for the Troops’ Tampa event will be teaming up with The Independence Fund, a national Veterans 501c3 non-profit dedicated to empowering catastrophically wounded, injured and ill Veterans to overcome the physical and emotional wounds incurred in the line of duty. The funds raised from the Tampa event will support The Independence Fund’s Mobility program, which will allow Marine Corps Veteran Michael Stovall to receive all-terrain trackchair. This trackchair will give Michael back the independence he lost so bravely fighting for ours.

Hello, my name Michael Thomas Stovall. I was born in Washington DC and grow up in Northern Virginia. I went into the United States Marine Corps in 05/04/1993 and was discharged on 10/18/1994. There was a formation run I was in and fell and my left kneecap popped to the side of my left leg. Which required major and invasive surgery and that was just the beginning of many more surgeries that followed as well as the injuries that piled on. I have been married for 19 years on June 26, 2022. I have twin daughters who are turning 13 years old this February. My wife is not just my everything, she is my caretaker for me. My twin daughters are my junior caretakers as well. My wife and my twin daughters are my 100% support system from the smallest things we do in life to major things we do in life. All three of them are here for me no matter what.
